Import images and other data

Most data like images, point clouds, can be imported into ELCOVISION 10 via Drag & Drop, for some data like projects this has to be done via a command in the Ribbon.

Images

Insert by drag and drop

Select images with a file manager and drag them to ELCOVISION 10

All selected images are loaded into an existing project. If the same image file is loaded multiple times into an existing project, this image is also available multiple times with different image numbers.

If no project exists, a new project is created automatically.

Select folders with a file manager and drag them to ELCOVISION 10

All images in all selected directories and their subdirectories are added to an existing project or a new project is created.

Insert via the Ribbon Bar

Project management and orientation > Data import and export > Insert images

A dialog box opens with which you can add as many images as you like to a project.

Point clouds

Not all point cloud formats supported by ELCOVISION 10 can be inserted. Some of the formats can only be exported.

Insert by drag and drop

Point clouds can easily be dragged into the ELCOVISION 10 window. If a project exists the point cloud will be inserted into this project, otherwise a new project will be created.

3D coordinate files

If a .COO file with control points (Code 123) is imported into the application, the function Transform project to control points is invoked automatically.

Insert by drag and drop

3D point files in ELCOVISION  .coo format and Leica GSI format can easily be dragged into ELCOVISION 10. The points are added to the object point list of ELCOVISION 10. If a point already exists a dialog box appears to select which points should be added to the list.

Insert via the Ribbon Bar

Project management and orientation > Data import and export > Insert coordinate file

A dialog opens with which you can insert a coordinate file.

Image measurement files (.imo)

In image measurement files (.imo) image measurements are available for reuse. If image measurements are inserted, a forward intersection is calculated over the inserted image measurements:

Insert by drag and drop

Image measurement files can be imported by drag and drop.

Insert via the Ribbon Bar

Project management and orientation > Data import and export > Insert coordinate file

A dialog opens with which you can insert an image measurement file.

Project files

Loading via file menu

Project files, Leica BLK3D .cmi files and Leica HexML files can be loaded via the file menu. The last 15 projects are kept in the quick access list. The project is not inserted into an already loaded project.

Loading by drag and drop

ELCOVISION 10 project files, Leica BLK3D .cmi files and Leica HexML files can be dropped into the software. The project is then loaded accordingly but not inserted into an existing project.

Inserting a Project into an Existing Project

Another project can be inserted into an existing project. If necessary, points, image measurements and images are renumbered in the newly inserted project.

Insert via the Ribbon Bar

Project management and orientation > Data import and export > Insert project file
